The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor's mission is to commemorate the service and sacrifice of men and women who were killed or wounded in action, representing Purple Heart recipients from the Civil War to the present day. The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been wounded or killed in enemy action. The National Purple Heart Honor Mission is dedicated to paying tribute to our nation's combat wounded through special outreach and educational programming.
