Details

At the center of (and nearly filling) a circular field, a very large 10¢, with the date and the mintmark M above and below the 0, respectively. To the right and below, a partial border of points and beads, representing blood and jade, from the Anillo del Sacrificio (Ring of Sacrifice) on the Aztec Calendar Stone. The border is angled as on the hexagonal field of the previous type.

Obverse: At center, above a half wreath of oak and laurel, the national coat of arms with the eagle facing left, its feathers resembling plates of armor. Above, the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
