Details

Obverse: At center, above a half wreath of oak and laurel, the national coat of arms with the eagle facing left, its feathers resembling plates of armor. Above, the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.

Reverse: At center of a hexagonal (six-sided) field, a large 10¢, with the date and the mintmark M above and below the 0, respectively. To the right and below, a partial border of points and beads, representing blood and jade, from the Anillo del Sacrificio (Ring of Sacrifice) on the Aztec Calendar Stone.
