Details
Very popular one ounce bullion gold coin. The majority of these were struck at the West Point Mint facility without a mint mark on the coin. In rare cases, the other mints located in Philadelphia, Denver or San Francisco can be used to strike coins, but they are indistinguishable from the West Point strikings.
Obverse: The Augustus Saint-Gaudens' design that depicts a full portrait of Liberty atop rays of sunlight surrounded by stars and the word LIBERTY on the top periphery. The date is positioned to the right of Liberty's left knee.
Reverse: A flying eagle is depicted approaching her nest of three waiting eagles accompanied by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST , 1 OZ. FINE GOLD~50 DOLLARS.
