1935-S Texas Half dollar MS Values

Details

The 1935 Texas half dollar represents the second year of issue for this long-running commemorative type that honors the centennial of Texas independence from Mexico in 1836. The coin was designed by Pompeo Coppini and features an eagle and five-pointed star on the obverse. Several symbolic elements on the reverse include the winged goddess Victoria, -- visage of the Alamo, and two cameo portraits of Texas republic founders General Sam Houston and Stephen Austin.
