1925-S California Jubilee Half dollar MS Values
Details
The 1925-S California commemorative half dollar, designed by Jo Mora, commemorates the state's 75th anniversary in the Union. It was released in large numbers of more than 150,000 pieces and sold for $1 each, with incredibly vast dispersal. While most are known in uncirculated grades, a high number of pieces exhibit moderate to even extensive wear. This is one coin for which there is an example for nearly every commemorative coinage price point.
Examples are common from the circulated grades up through MS65, with MS66s being tougher to locate and MS67s scarce. Pieces in MS68 or higher are extremely rare. Color and luster vary with the California halves. Some examples are blast white and lustrous while others exhibit exceptionally colorful toning. With the California halves, there is virtually something for everyone.
