1918-S/S U.S. Philippines, RPM 5 Centavos MS Allen-4.08a, FS-501 Values
Details
The repunched date is clearly visible in all four digits. This is one of two significant varieties to look for among 1918-S five-centavos. It was added to the Guide Book of United States Coins (the “Red Book”) in the 70th edition, published in 2016. Values have risen since then, and auction appearances are infrequent. Note: PCGS and NGC list this variety as 4.08aa.
Reverse: An eagle is portrayed in the center atop an American shield with 13 stars. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is written around the periphery with the date at the bottom.
