1916-S U.S. Philippines, Tilted 6 20 Centavos MS Allen 11.12a, FS-301 Values
Details
The numeral 6 in the date is out of normal alignment, appearing to tilt to the left. Two die varieties exist for the 1916-S ten-centavo coin. One has a straighter numeral 6 in the date. The other, traditionally thought to be scarcer, has a tilted 6. This was made in the era of hand-worked dies, where a mint technician would punch numerals and other elements into the working dies for coinage, which could result in discrepancies. Check your 1916-S twenty-centavos; even those that are slabbed might not be correctly attributed by variety.
This coin is made of Silver and has a current melt value of $7.53
Reverse: An eagle is portrayed in the center atop an American shield with 13 stars. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is written around the periphery with the date at the bottom.
