1914-S U.S. Philippines, Long Crossbar 4 10 Centavos MS Allen-8.10b, FS-301 Values
Details
The crossbar on the 4 of the date is longer than on the Short Crossbar variety. Ten-centavos of 1914 (all minted in San Francisco) have one of two date styles, determined by the length of the crossbar on the numeral 4. The Long Crossbar variety seems to be the scarcer of the two. The Short Crossbar might actually have been the result of a broken punch.
Reverse: An eagle is portrayed in the center atop an American shield with 13 stars. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is written around the periphery with the date at the bottom.
