The repunched S mintmark is clearly evident, with remnants of the underlying S visible to the north. This is a recently popular die variety that earns significant premiums in all grades. It is a Philippine companion to numerous repunched mintmarks in the Barber dime series of the early 1900s.
Reverse: An eagle is portrayed in the center atop an American shield with 13 stars. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is written around the periphery with the date at the bottom.
