1899 One Cent PR RD Values
Details
The mintage for the 1899 Indian Cent is 2,031. Brown pieces are common along with red-brown with the finest gems being scarce. Full red gems are scarce also with the finest ones being very rare. Any grade with a cameo is at the very least, scarce with high Mint State grades being rare. Look for attractively toned brown pieces or blazing red surfaces because they are the most coveted and are not very tough to find.
Obverse: A portrait bearing the likeness of a Native American in full headdress framed by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. The date is centered at the bottom under the portrait.
Reverse: The reverse bears the denomination of ONE CENT in the center surrounded by a wreath bearing a ribbon with arrows tied in at the bottom center.
