1892 One Dollar MS Values
Details
The 1892 Morgan dollar is a tougher date in all regards, though circulated examples are much easier to locate than uncirculated pieces. This issue is very scarce in MS65 and rare in grades above that. Uncirculated examples are either found with great strike and luster or with flatter strike and dullish appearance. Certainly, the nicer examples garner stronger premiums than those with relatively lesser eye appeal. PLs and DMPLs are scarce in all grades and extremely rare in Gem levels.
Obverse: Portrait of Liberty centered. On the left are found 7 stars with the words E*PLURIBUS*UNUM followed by 6 stars on the right. The date is positioned at the bottom.
Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered holding a bunch of arrows and branch surrounded by and olive leaves. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears above the letters DO of DOLLAR.
