1888 One Cent PR RB Values
Details
The 1888 is the ideal type coin with a large proof mintage of 4,582 pieces struck. Brown examples are common through the gem level with some scarcity in PR66 and PR67. Same goes for red-brown coins. Full Red color, and especially cameos, start to become rare at the PR65 mark. Look for attractively toned brown pieces or blazing red surfaces as those are the most desirable and are not too tough to find.
Obverse: A portrait bearing the likeness of a Native American in full headdress framed by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. The date is centered at the bottom under the portrait.
Reverse: The reverse bears the denomination of ONE CENT in the center surrounded by a wreath bearing a ribbon with arrows tied in at the bottom center.
