1882-S GSA Hoard One Dollar MS Values
Details
The 1882-S Morgan dollar is among the scarcer GSA dollars, which mostly consist of silver dollars hailing from the Carson City Mint. Because there is such demand for GSA Hoard dollars and only a relatively small number are 1882-S dollars, any examples in GSA packaging take huge premiums over similarly graded or conditionally equivalent examples that are sold raw or in regular slabs. 1882-S GSA Morgan dollars are found in circulated and uncirculated condition and packaged in either soft packs or hard packs. PLs and DMPLs are very rare.
Obverse: Portrait of Liberty centered. On the left are found 7 stars with the words E*PLURIBUS*UNUM followed by 6 stars on the right. The date is positioned at the bottom.
Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered holding a bunch of arrows and branch surrounded by and olive leaves. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears above the letters DO of DOLLAR.
