The rarest of all the Stella issues, the 1880 Coin hair is considered one of the great rarities in all American numismatics.

Obverse: Liberty is seen facing left with her hair coiled up in a bonnet . The weight and composition of the coin is spelled out with stars between the letters around the periphery. "6 * G * .3 * S * .7 * C * 7 * G * R * A *

Reverse: A star is centered with the words "ONE STELLA", "400 CENTS" written inside. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * FOUR DOL. around the periphery. The words "DEO EST GLORIA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM" are written inside the circumference.
