1880 3-Cent Nickel PR CAM Values

Details

The 1880 Proof Three Cent Nickel is an excellent type coin for the series as it is somewhat affordable and boasts a mintage of 3,955 coins struck. Common throughout all grades except the absolute finest gems. Attractive color and noteworthy strikes can be found with some searching. Cameos bring a modest, gradual premium with an increase in rarity and desirability for deep cameos.

Obverse: A Romanesque Liberty is portrayed facing left with LIBERTY emblazoned on her crown. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA appears on the periphery with the date at the bottom.

Reverse: The roman numeral III is centered in the design surrounded by a large wreath tied with a bow at the bottom. This design is one of few American coins without wording on one of the sides.
