1873 Small Arrows, DDO, Quad Stripes Half Dollar MS FS-101, WB-109 Values
Details
According to Heritage catalogers, "this small arrows variety exhibits arguably the boldest die doubled obverse in the entire Seated Liberty half dollar series. The doubling is easily seen on Liberty's gown folds, fingers, foot, the lower stars, the scroll, and the shield stripes which exhibit four lines each instead of the normal three."
This coin is made of 90% silver; 10% copper and has a current melt value of $29.02
Obverse: Lady liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. 13 Stars frame the periphery with the date at the bottom middle under the rock. Arrows appear to the left and right of the date.
Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered in the design with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOL. around the periphery. A ribbon above the eagle's head bears the motto IN GOD WE TRUST
