1861-O CSA Obverse Half Dollar MS Values
Details
The so-called CSA obverse half dollars are limited to the three varieties designated as W-11, W-13, and W-15. Of these, the prized variety is known as W-11 and has a distinctive die crack from Liberty's nose to the top rim. Depending on the boldness of the die crack, this variety usually trades for multiples higher than the other so-called "CSA obverse" coins.
Obverse: Lady liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. 13 Stars frame the periphery with the date at the bottom middle under the rock.
Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered in the design with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOL. around the periphery.
