Details
Rarity ratings provided courtesy of the Bust Half Nut Club Rarity Ratings Committee as published in their 2020 BHNC study report. The 1817 O-103b is a very late die state of the 1817 O-103, the original "punctuated date" variety. In the O-103b, the original punctuation is worn off and new (multiple) dots now appear in the date.
Obverse: Portrait of Liberty facing left with a cap and the word LIBERTY on a ribbon above her brow. 7 stars on the left periphery and 6 stars on the right side represent the original 13 colonies. The date appears centered at the bottom.
Reverse: An heraldic eagle holding olive branches and 3 arrows in its claws is surrounded by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. A ribbon below bears the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The denomination of 50C is centered below the eagle.
