1807 Capped Bust, Light Beard, 50/20 Half Dollar MS O-111a Values
Details
Rarity ratings provided courtesy of the Bust Half Nut Club Rarity Ratings Committee as published in their 2020 BHNC study report. While references in Overton as an early die state of the popular O-111b Bearded Goddess variety, this variety is more accurately described simply as the large stars obverse, 50/20 variety.
Obverse: Portrait of Liberty facing left with a cap and the word LIBERTY on a ribbon above her brow. 7 stars on the left periphery and 6 stars on the right side represent the original 13 colonies. The date appears centered at the bottom.
Reverse: An heraldic eagle holding olive branches and 3 arrows in its claws is surrounded by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. A ribbon below bears the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The denomination of 50C is centered below the eagle.
