1794 Silver Plug One Dollar SP Values

Details

Considered to be a unique specimen of the rare first year silver dollar issue, with a silver plug inserted to correct weight. Quite possibly (and argued by some researchers) to be the very first silver dollar struck by the U.S. mint.

Obverse: The original design of Liberty, facing right, with hair flowing as if facing a slight breeze. 8 and 7 stars on the left and right periphery, respectively with the word LIBERTY across the top and the date positioned in the bottom center.

Reverse: A small eagle standing on branches surrounded by olive branches that are tied in a bow at the bottom. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. No denomination is mentioned.
