A New Take On A Canadian Classic The Maple Leaf is a symbol of Canada's national pride and identity, representing the country's natural beauty, strength, and unity. It is prominently displayed on the national flag, worn by athletes at international events, and featured in various government insignias, military uniforms, and monuments across Canada. Among the mediums it is hard to overlook is in the Royal Canadian Mint's Maple Leaf series. The series began in 1979 when the first Canadian Maple Leaf coin made its debut. The series has since gone on to become one of the world's most popular annual series. The series takes a break from its normal one-leaf design in 2025 to shows a three-leaf version courtesy of Stan Witten, the highly respected senior engraver at the Royal Canadian Mint. From The Royal Canadian Mint's Senior Engraver: A Triple Maple Leaf! Renowned for his exceptional skill and artistry in coin design, Witten has carved out a career spanning several decades. During his career, Witten has made significant contributions to the Mint's iconic collection of coins, medallions, and commemorative pieces, including the design for2007's Big Maple Leaf which at the time received a Guinness World Record for designing the world's largest gold coin. The 200-pound coin measuring 530 mm in diameter was struck in 99.999% pure gold and had a face value of $1 million! To honor Witten for his service to the Royal Canadian Mint, he was offered a chance to design any coin he wished in 2025. Not surprisingly, he selected the Maple Leaf and used three Sugar Maple leaves from his backyard as the models for his take on a Canadian classic.

About CDN Prices

All CDN prices are based on proprietary market knowledge and technology developed by CDN Publishing, LLC.

CPG® prices represent retail levels. Collectors should refer to CPG values as a starting place for their negotiations, or auction bid reference.

Greysheet/Greensheet prices are wholesale market levels for collectible coins/paper money intended to indicate what a dealer, or wholesale, buyer would pay for the described item in the specified grade. Greysheet/Greensheet represent "sight-seen" values based on a buyer's in-hand review. The actual value can be more or less than this depending on factors including eye appeal and market timing.

Bluesheet (NGC & PCGS) prices represent the highest sight-unseen offers to buy on dealer networks like CDN Exchange. In many cases, there are no active sight-unseen buy offers, so CDN looks to the recent lowest market values for such an item. For this reason, Bluesheet values typically represent the floor of the market for the specified item. CDN only tracks Bluesheet on certain items.

CAC prices are for U.S. coins that meet the standards of the Certified Acceptance Corporation. You can learn more about CAC on their web site.

Price movement is indicated for price changes in the last 30 days.

The prices listed in our database are intended to be used as an indication only. Users are strongly encouraged to seek multiple sources of pricing before making a final determination of value. CDN Publishing is not responsible for typographical or database-related errors. Your use of this site indicates full acceptance of these terms.
