Rarities across the spectrum of American coinage are set to cross the auction block.
Rare mint error. The obverse of the Native American (Sacagawea) dollar coin was struck with the reverse of the Presidential dollar coin, which is called a "mule" in numismatic terms. Only one example is known as of 2024, which sold in April 2021 at Heritage Auctions.
Obverse Description
Portrait of Sacagawea with child in a papoose with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST in the left field. LIBERTY centered at the top. The date and mint mark are located on the edge (rim).
