Once considered a rare coin, the 1903-O Morgan dollar was found in great quantity in the depths of US Treasury vaults and were released beginning in the 1960s. Remainders were offered in the Great Silver Sale, though they are much less common in GSA hard packs or soft packs than almost any of their CC-mint counterparts. All 1903-O GSA Hoard Morgan dollars in original government packaging command stronger prices than raw or typical certified examples of similar grade. PLs and DMPLs, on the occasion they are found, take huge premiums.

Obverse Description

Portrait of Liberty centered. On the left are found 7 stars with the words E*PLURIBUS*UNUM followed by 6 stars on the right. The date is positioned at the bottom.

Reverse Description

The heraldic eagle is centered holding a bunch of arrows and branch surrounded by and olive leaves. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears above the letters DO of DOLLAR.
